Shinrin-yoku
Forest Walks
Reset your nervous system. Clear your mind. Return to your True North.
Shinrin-yoku (often called forest bathing) is a slow, guided walk designed to help you step out of stress mode and come back to yourself—without needing to be outdoorsy, athletic, or spiritual.
This is not hiking. It’s not a workout. It’s a simple, evidence-informed way to be in nature that helps your body settle and your mind soften.
What is Shinrin-yoku?
Shinrin-yoku is the practice of immersing yourself in the natural environment in a gentle, intentional way—through your senses.
Instead of trying to power through your thoughts, you’ll be guided to notice what’s already here: breath, sound, light, texture, movement, space. When you slow down like this, something important happens: your nervous system gets the signal that it’s safe to exhale.
Many people describe it as:
- a mental reset
- a return to calm
- a clearing of emotional static
- a feeling of being more present and grounded
It’s simple on purpose. That’s why it works.
Why it Helps?
Modern life keeps most of us in a constant state of on. Even when we rest, our minds stay busy—processing, planning, bracing, and replaying.
Dr. Quin Li scientific studies have proved time in nature has been linked with benefits like:
- Decrease of NK Natural cancer fighting cells by up to 40%
- Lower blood pressure, lower stress and improved mood
- more calm in the body
- clearer thinking and better focus
- improved sleep and overall wellbeing
- a deeper sense of connection to yourself and the world around you
You don’t have to do it perfectly. You just have to show up and let your system downshift.
How this Supports the ALIGN Method™
Guided forest walks are a natural complement to my Human Design work because insight alone is not always enough. Sometimes people do not need more information. They need space to settle, integrate, and come back to themselves.
Forest walks especially support the Ground part of the ALIGN Method™ — helping you regulate your nervous system, quiet the noise, and reconnect with what feels steady and true. When your system feels safer, clarity often comes more easily.
Who these Walks are for
This is for you if you:
- feel mentally overloaded and need a natural reset
- carry stress, burnout, or decision fatigue
- want clarity, but you’re tired of overthinking
- want a practice that supports your wellbeing in a simple, sustainable way
- are craving more presence, peace, and perspective
You don’t need to be broken to benefit from this. You just need a place to breathe.
What to Expect
A guided forest walk as scripted by ANFT certified guides is typically about 2 hours and includes:
- a calm arrival and gentle orientation
- guided invitations to notice with your senses
- slow walking with long pauses
- optional reflection prompts
- a closing that helps you carry the calm back into real life
You can be quiet the whole time if you want. You can also ask questions. This is not therapy or group processing—it’s a guided experience designed to help you feel better in your body and clearer in your mind.

Why I Offer this Alongside True North Work
A lot of people don’t need more information—they need space to integrate.
Nature helps the nervous system settle, and when the noise drops, clarity tends to rise. Shinrin-yoku pairs beautifully with Human Design and coaching because it supports the part of you that makes change possible: your capacity to regulate, reflect, and choose differently.
If you’re craving alignment but your system is tired, this is a gentle way back.
